Copic markers - Let's talk Storage & Multi-Liners
There's a lot of conversation going on about what is the best way to store your Copic Markers. The best answer is with the caps on. Now, I'm not trying to be a smarty - but the truth is there is no preferred way to store them. It's an individual preference. Here's how I store mine:
I altered this Creative Imaginations caddy with various papers to match my studio. I now have a place to keep all of my Copic products together with a little room to expand. On this side of my caddy I have a set of the Copic Original markers, my Spica's, the 3 sets of Super Brush Multi-liners (I'll show you a picture of those further down), regular multi-liners, some Copic Wide markers and my Airbrushing system, a palette, and a storage bag with replaceable nibs inside. Here's the other side:
On this side I keep all of my Copic Sketch markers and Copic Ciao's. I don't keep them in any color order just standing up so I can easily see the colored caps. Before I start a project I select the colors I think that I may want and place them on my work surface.
There are many other ways to store your Copics, in large Wallets, plastic containers that hold 12, 24, 36 or 72 markers at a time and cubes all available from Copic dealers. To view another person's style of storage visit Trudee. She has taken it a step further and created her own personal color mat. It's a super idea and one that I believe I will do next. Here are a few other views of my storage:
You can see all the different storage sections and the room for expansion. Top view 1: Top View 2:
You may ask why I have so many different Copic marker styles. Besides helping Copic - I personally wanted to test and play with each style before I could, in good faith, recommend which style I thought would work best. I'm attaching a file, Download stamping_with_copic_final.pdf , that I think will explain clearly the differences between the markers.
Now for the Multi-liners, they are:
- Pigment based ink is waterproof and won't bleed or smear when used with COPIC Markers.
- Regular multi-liners are available in Black, Sepia, Gray, Olive, Cobalt, and Wine.
- Super Brush Multi-liners are available in three sets with four colors in each set.
- Black multi-liners are available in 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.8, 1.0mm and in Brush Small (BS) and Brush Medium (BM).
- Colored Multi-liners are available in sizes 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5mm.
- Our best quality inking pens, Multi-liner SP are now available in black and colors.
- Refillable pens, with replacement nibs and aluminum bodies.
- Since these multi-liners are refillable, like the Copic markers they have a lifetime of use.
First up is the Super Brush tip, there are three sets:
1. Primary Brush- Red, Yellow, Sky Blue & Olive
2. Country Brush - Wine, Cobalt, Sepia & Cool Grey
3. Bright Brush - Turquoise, Orange, Purple & Pink
In the next picture you will see the difference in the multi-liner nib tips. Each barrel is marked with the nib size and
color. It will either say SP 0.3 yellow, which means it is a 0.3 nib size in a yellow multi-liner. If it says BS Wine, then it means the multi-liner is a super brush in the color wine. Let me share with you one more photo that may show the nib differences a little better.
I hope that I haven't confused you more. This is just another wonderful product that Copic makes that is high quality. Personally I love the Super Brush tip and have used them many times for coloring, writing, tracing, outlining. Every time I get a clear precise line exactly where I wanted it.
I don't use the regular nibbed multi-liner as often. Please feel free to ask me more questions about storage, multi-liners, Copic marker styles, Spicas or basically anything else you can come up with that has to do with Copic. Also be sure to visit the new Copic website for more information.
Thanks for letting me share my way to store them. I'd love to see how your storing your Copic markers, so please share. Thanks

Your storage system looks pretty darn cool! However, I've always heard that you should store markers on their sides and not end to end. Any ideas on that? Tks!
