Today I had the opportunity to play cards with my friend, Ginger. I originally had two cards planned for us and then we decided to go in a complete opposite direction. Which is so cool for me! I want to share with you the cards we made today using Twinkling H2O's & the Stained Glass Easter Lily stamp from Della's. Here is Ginger's version of the Lily:
Beautiful, isn't it? We both stamped our images on Stamper's Select white cardstock with versamark and then embossed in black. After she chose her Twinkling H2O colors she begin to paint. You just can't go wrong no matter which of the 156 colors you choose since they are all so beautiful! She then matted it on paper from A2Z and then on to metallic paper from Cut Cardstock. Then instead of traditionally placing the image square on the front of her card she gave it a quarter turn and popped it using foam squares. The card is copper metallic with a band of gold in the middle and rhinestones in each corner. I have to tell you this card is simply stunning! I wish you could see all the shimmer going on! Ginger, super job!
My version, looks like this:
I used vanilla bean, Almond Beige, Irish Mist, Wintermint & Pear Blossom for Twinkling H2O colors. It was subtle, soft and beautiful just as it was but I wanted to try something else. So I covered my painted image with versamark and UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel). I repeated this step twice. Once the image had cooled I cracked it by bending in different directions. Then to give it a weathered, vintage feel I rubbed the cracked areas with Tattered Rose & Tea Dye distress inks from Ranger. I matted my image in pink metallic & iridescent metallic papers and my card is Antique boutique lace A1 from A2Z. To create the border I used my tonic corner punch and tonic border system. I added kaiser rhinestones as the finishing touch. My finished card size is 5 x 5.
Both of these cards are now ready for Easter, Get Well wishes, Hello to a friend and so much more. Lots of times I will create my cards and leave the sentiments off until I need something in specific.
I just want to comment on the Stamps I've been using from I Brake For Stamps - These stamps are exceptional. They have great detail and always stamp so beautifully! Della's place has quickly become one of my favorite places to get stamps!
As always the majority of the products used in these cards is available at Inspire Me. Just drop me a quick e-mail and tell me what you would like.
Thanks for letting me share my play date with Ginger and Have a great day!
