It's hard to believe a whole week has gone by since I last posted! My DH was on vacation this week and he was possessed with doing yard work and sprucing up the house. So how could I argue? So that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :)
I know you're all waiting for the next Tonic video and it is completed - I'm just waiting for it to upload on You-Tube. So until then I thought I might share a little something I've been playing with.
I was recently at the Christmas Tree Shop and I saw these large blue stones. You know the kind you throw in the top of a plant pot for color or in the bottom of a glass vase? Anyhow I thought that they looked large enough to stamp on - so I bought some. This is one of the results. I first soldered the stone, then added the top and bottom rings. Then placed the beads and chain on and finally a large rhinestone in the center of the top ring.
Next I stamped my image with Olive Green Staz-on. Even though it was Staz-On I had to heat set it before going any further. I then colored the image with Q-Tips that I had pressed into other Staz-On colors. It was the only ink that I could get to stay on the stone. Again I heat set. To seal the whole project I spray some Krylon gloss coating over the top.
I truly am happy with how this came out. I know the picture isn't very appealing - so you will have to trust me on this one. A totally cool piece.
Now, want to know more about the stamp? It's an awesome stamp from Rubbernecker Stamp Company. If you have never checked this site out then STOP right now and click on over. Don't yell at me when you see all the awesome stuff they have!
The stamp itself actually measures 1.25 x 4.5. It's called Butterfly Blossom # 1745 SO. So to show the stamp I decided to make a simple card. As you can see I used only a small portion of the stamp for the necklace - cool huh? This stamp is so versatile - you could use this for a Happy Spring, Just a note, Get Well and so many more occasions!
I used some paper that I haven't pulled out in a while, Murdock's Paper in Sun Kissed, Cranberry and Cotton Candy. It's just like polished Stone paper without all the mess and fuss!
I wish you could see the embossing powder, it's Sparkling Sapphire from P.K. Glitz, Inc. I met them at the Creating Keepsakes Convention a few weeks ago in NH. Anyhow, their hand-blended embossing powders and glitter are to die for! (You know that Inspire Me will be carrying those yummies very soon!)
My Rubbernecker image is colored with Copic Markers and of course a touch of Bling with Kaiser Rhinestones just had to be added.
It's always interesting to look at your stamps and challenge yourself to see what else they can do.
